Mathematics Department

About

The Hinds CC Mathematics Department has a long tradition of excellent teaching while consistently providing a supportive environment for our students. We offer a broad spectrum of mathematics courses beginning with development mathematics and ending with Differential Equations. We also offer statistics and business calculus for our nursing and business majors and a sequence of three mathematics courses for our future elementary teachers.

Our goal is for students to develop competence in critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Helping students to skillfully conceptualize, apply, analyze, synthesize, and evaluate information.

In addition to offering developmental through advanced courses, we also offer free tutoring services for students registered in any math course at Hinds. Students can come to one of our Math Labs and get face-to-face help, or sign-up for a virtual tutoring session. The Math Labs also offer proctored testing and computer access for homework assignments.
