Welding Technology
Overview
Our Welding Technology program will prepare you for entry-level jobs in the welding industry. You will learn shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), pipe welding, plasma arc cutting (PAC), carbon arc cutting, oxyfuel cutting, gas metal arc aluminum welding (GMAAW), and gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW). Your program coursework will include math, metallurgy, welding inspection, and destructive and non-destructive testing.
Few things are possible in this world without welding. From pipelines to skyscrapers, welding (literally) holds the world together. Welding is a much sought-after skill, and the Welding Technology program at Hinds Community College will give you the education and experience you need to launch your career.
