PEARL—The Alpha Omicron Omega Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at Hinds Community College’s Rankin Campus named English Instructor Elizabeth Martin of Jackson as the PTK Faculty of the Year.

“Ms. Martin is an exemplary instructor whom I have enjoyed working with for many years,” said Joy Rhoads, Rankin Honors Program Director and Phi Theta Kappa Faculty Advisor.

“She is a person who truly cares about her students and their success. I was delighted when the chapter officers and members selected Betsy as our well-deserved Faculty of the Year,” said Rhoads, who also teaches Geography and History.

One of the students who nominated Ms. Martin said of her, “She genuinely cares for her students and was able to help us without making us feel diminished. It is obvious she enjoys teaching, and I really enjoyed her classes.”
