PEARL — Hinds Community College Rankin Campus Honors program presented 11 students with awards of excellence for the 2018-19 academic term. Each named a faculty mentor, who received a certificate as an Honored Faculty Member during a ceremony April 26.
Among Distinguished Honors Scholars were Ashlyn Rader, of Puckett; Caleb Ries, of Florence; and Amber Williams, of Brandon.
Distinguished Honors Scholars carry 18 or more honors hours and have two semesters in the Leadership Program. They must maintain an overall GPA of 3.5 or better and have at least 30 hours of community service.
Among Honors Scholars were Emily Bennett, Branden Hines, both of Brandon; Tyler Hocutt, of Florence; Victoria Lawrence, of Magee; Anna Pate, of Brandon; and Gabbi Walters, of Pelahatchie.
Honors Scholars carry 12 or more honors hours and must maintain an overall GPA of 3.25 or better and have at least 20 hours of community service.
Named as Servant Scholars were Shanna Owen and Anatara Sharma, both of Brandon.
Servant Scholars are Honors members who have distinguished themselves above and beyond in their commitment to service activities on campus and in the community and have maintained a 3.25 or higher GPA.
