RAYMOND – Hinds Community College’s theatre performance group, The Lendon Players, will perform “The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940” from Oct. 29-Nov. 1, 2024. Doors open each night at 6 p.m. for a reception with the show starting at 7 p.m. in Brooks Theatre on the Raymond Campus. Tickets are general admission and will be available at the door, $8 for adults and $5 for students.

“The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940” by John Bishop is technically not a musical, even though “musical” is in the title of the play.

The play is about the producers of a Broadway production that failed in the box office because of the murders of three of its chorus girls by the “Stage Door Slasher.” A wealthy heiress invites them out to her estate where murder is lurking behind secret panels and in every corner, and the Slasher strikes again and again as a raging blizzard cuts off all chances of retreat.
