Raymond Campus Business Administration instructor Nita Burchfield was named the Teacher of the Year for 2022 by participants of the Raymond Campus Phi Theta Kappa and Honors program. The recognition was at the Teacher Appreciation Tea on April 14.
Burchfield has been teaching at Hinds since 2013. Students who nominated her said the following:
- She “encourages her students to try new things, form ideas that challenge them and use collaboration to gain new perspectives.”
- She “uses real-life experiences that bring the real world inside the classroom.”
