STEM Scholarships

Overview

Scholarship opportunities are available to students majoring in STEM fields on our Utica Campus. If you are interested in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math, we invite you to explore this program. The Hinds CC UC3T STEM-UP Initiative is sponsored by a grant from the National Science Foundation and is designed to increase the number of minority students who complete Associate Degrees on our Utica Campus and who are prepared to pursue a B.S. degree in STEM areas at four year institutions. We challenge students to achieve the highest level of intellectual and personal development, focusing on the following:

• Enhancing students’ problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
• Enhancing STEM students’ ability to use technology in content-specific and general areas
• Introducing students to STEM research
• Providing students with a head-start on their STEM college careers
• Facilitating student success and transfer to four year institutions
