RAYMOND – Hinds Community College has named a new vice president for Business Services, based at the Raymond Campus.

Dr. Vic Parker was named to the position following official action Wednesday by the college’s Board of Trustees.

Parker, of Brandon, has served as director of the Hinds County Career and Technical Center since August 2018. The center is under the direction of the college.

Prior to Hinds, he worked in the Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness at Holmes Community College as the Trek Coordinator and Complete to Compete adviser. He was also the Workforce Education coordinator at Co-Lin Community College.

He holds his academic degrees from Mississippi State University, including his doctorate in community college leadership. His bachelor’s is in banking and finance and his master’s is in physical education with sports administration.

“We are all trusted with being good stewards of the institutional capital placed under our watch, including both financial and human capital,” Parker said. “It is my goal to develop and foster both the financial and human capital of Hinds Community College in an effort to support student and internal success through organizational productivity and efficiency.”

He is active in many professional organizations, including the Mississippi Association for Career and Technical Education and Mississippi Association of Colleges and Employers. In 2015 he completed the Mississippi Community College Leadership Academy.
