Hinds Community College hosted the 40th annual Counselor and Principal Workshop on Nov. 15 to show high school administrators what the college has to offer their students.

Seventy-five counselors and principals representing nearly 50 high schools attended. Held at the Vashti Underwood Muse Band Hall on the Raymond Campus, the workshop opened with an alumni panel including Jeffrey Fairley, currently a Jackson State University student; Samuel Williams, who now works at Continental Tire in Clinton; Melodie Brown, a Hinds nursing instructor; Carla Nicks, UPS Human Resources specialist and dentist Dr. David Henry.

After the panel discussion, attendees attended three breakout sessions. Topics included college extracurricular activities, the Fab lab and Hinds counseling. The workshop closed with a jazz combo and Hinds Harmony choir entertaining during lunch.
