Overview

Our Health, Physical Education & Recreation (HPR) Area of Study will introduce you to the needed courses to prepare for a transfer degree in several areas: parks and recreation management, physical education, health science, sports ministry, and sports administration. Our curriculum builds the foundation for upper-level education upon transfer while completing the general education requirements for most baccalaureate degrees. 

After completing your Associate of Arts degree at Hinds, you will be able to transfer to a four-year institution and earn your Bachelor of Science degree. Fitness instructor, personal trainer, health educator, strength and conditioning specialist, parks and recreation director, travel ball director, and geriatric mobility specialist are just a few of the careers you could expect. If you choose to continue your education, once you complete graduate school you could become a nutritionist, athletic trainer, occupational therapist, or physical therapist.
