Hinds Connection: Alumni
The Hinds Connection Alumni Chapter named Lt. Col. Judd Moss as its new president last fall. Plans for 2009 include a fundraiser for new furniture for the Hinds Connection room in D. G. "Sonny" Fountain Hall. To donate, contact Judd at 601.842.5833.
Hinds Connection Alumni Chapter President Judd Moss (1981)
 Hinds Connection is all about service - and fun. That's what makes Judd Moss (1981) a good match as president of the Hinds Connection alumni chapter. Moss is a former Hinds student and Hinds Connection member.
Before he joined Hinds Connection as a sophomore, he was already active with Circle K, Associated Student Government and Baptist Student Union. When he left Hinds he went on to Mississippi State University where he graduated in 1983.
He is a pilot and has been flying 11 years for FedEx and is currently captain of an airbus. He recently retired from the Mississippi Air National Guard with the rank of lieutenant colonel. During his 27 years in the military, he first flew helicopters for four years with the Army National Guard, then switched to the Air Guard and flew C-141s and C-17s in transport missions in "every conflict from 1990, Desert Shield and Desert Storm and ending with Iraqi Freedom."
He and his wife, the former Barbara Gottschalck (HCC 1980), are the proud parents of nine-year old JoJo (named after his late grandfather, Judge Joe G. Moss, for whom the Raymond Campus baseball field is named), a fourth grader at Raymond Elementary School. The family is active with First Baptist Church of Raymond, where, among other things, Moss is part of the Chainsaw Ministry that helps community members with tornado damage.
