Vicksburg woman wins Miss Hinds CC title
01/29/08 - De'Lisha Wiggins, 19, of Vicksburg, center, was selected Miss Hinds Community College 2008 Jan. 30 during the competition at Hogg Auditorium at Cain-Cochran Hall.
She wowed the judges with her rendition of "A Moment Like This" to win the talent category. She also won the swimsuit competition.
Wiggins, a graduate of All Saints' Episcopal School, is a Vicksburg-Warren Campus sophomore majoring in biology. Her platform is empowering youth to be drug free.
Wiggins will compete in June in the Miss Mississippi pageant in Vicksburg.
Taking first alternate was Alisha Shirley, 18, of Brandon, left. Shirley, a Pearl High graduate, is a freshman on the Raymond Campus majoring in pre-law.
Second alternate was JoAnna Hulitt, 19, of Jackson, right. Hulitt is a graduate of Provine High. The Raymond Campus sophomore is majoring in pre-medicine.
