John Ingwerson has directed the guitar program at Hinds Community College since 1989. He previously taught at Northern Arizona University and the University of Arizona. He holds a M.M. and D.M.A. from the University of Arizona. Dr. Ingwerson has performed in master classes for such distinguished international artists as David Russell, Manuel Barrueco, Christopher Parkening, and Michael Lorimer. He has served as in adjudicator at the Guitar Foundation of America Competition in New Orleans, the 2001 "Julian Arcas" International Guitar Competition in Almeria, Spain and has recorded with Lester Senter Wilson, accompanying four songs on her CD entitled "Lovely Ladies and Their Lyrics."
