Jazz Ensemble
The Jazz Ensemble is comprised of 18 to 20 of the best instrumental musicians on the Raymond Campus. In traditional big band format, emphasis is placed on providing exposure for the musicians to most forms of jazz styles. Selections from the 30's and 40's era swing style to present day contemporary styles, jazz fusion, rock and others make up the repertoire. Under the direction of Robert Cheesman, the group plays at civic and school related functions, for local business occasions, and has performed at The World’s Fair in New Orleans, Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, and the Lawrence Welk Theatre in Branson, MO.

The Jazz Ensemble meets twice a week for about an hour. Generous scholarships are offered to members and participation is by audition at the beginning of the fall semester.
