Business & Marketing Management & Related Technology In every business around the globe, regardless of type, marketing and management is at the root of them all. All businesses buy and sell products or services of some type. They advertise, conduct community public relations, manage employees and business operations, and utilize computer technologies through the Internet, inventory systems, multimedia, and e-commerce. If not for marketing and management, the standard of living we all enjoy throughout the country would not exist.
In fact, The Mississippi Pathways Job Prediction through 2010 indicates Business Management and Marketing as the NUMBER ONE category of jobs available in the Department of Labor categories for the state of Mississippi. Professional positions and the opportunities for advancement are unlimited for those with initiative and ability.
The Business & Marketing Management & Related Technology Department at Hinds Community College offers three Associate of Applied Science degree options:
These programs of study are designed to provide specialized instruction with hands-on learning projects in all phases of business and marketing management, fashion marketing, and in real estate in order to prepare students for professional careers in the field. Internships in each of the degree programs are encouraged during the last semester of the program.
Requirements for Admissions
- Application for Admissions
- If applicant is under 21 years of age, the applicant must submit ACT scores.
- Beginning freshmen, 21 years old or older who have not taken the ACT will be required to take a placement test before registering.
Requirements for Graduation
- Prior to graduation completion, students must take Freshman Orientation.
- In order to receive degree, students must take the MS-CPAS (Mississippi Career Planning and Assessment System Exam) test prior to graduation.
- Students must successfully complete all requirements for required semester hours.
