Allen SpenceAllen Spence - Full-time Instructor

Mr. Allen Spence is the Small Engine & Equipment Repair Instructor at Hinds Community College, Raymond Campus. He began his teaching career in 1991 at Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Wesson, MS. After teaching at the Jasper County Career Center, Ocean Springs High School and Canton Career Center; Mr. Spence came to Hinds Community College in 2001. Mr. Spence holds a current Educator License from the State of Mississippi.

Mr. Spence is a 1982 graduate of U.S. Army Training School in Power Generation and Wheeled Vehicles. In 1985 he received a certificate from Copiah-Lincoln Junior College in Automotive Mechanics. Returning to school at Copiah- Lincoln in 1991 Mr. Spence received the first Associate of Applied Science Degree in Automotive Technology given by a Community College in Mississippi. He is currently doing course work for a degree in Industrial and Technical Education.

While in the U.S. Army, Mr. Spence worked in the field he was trained in. After leaving the military and finishing school he worked for several major companies as a fleet mechanic, repairing everything from weed eaters to locomotive engines. His last job was as a Fleet manager at National linen Service in Jackson, Miss.
