The British Studies Program is a residential summer session offered annually during July and August in London. Students are housed at a University of London, King's College residence hall.

While allowing participants ample free time for independent travel, the session offers undergraduate and graduate course work in a wide range of academic disciplines with offerings for almost every major, or minor, field of study.

In the regular four and one half week session, participants enroll for six semester hours in the academic discipline of their choice. Three of these semester hours are satisfied in a lecture course taught by eminent British scholars, artists, business leaders and government officials complemented by field remaining three semester hours are satisfied by supervised research.

As much as possible the classes are conducted in field trip settings. For example, when the Art History class studies Stonehenge, the class travels to Stonehenge.

Credit hours earned through the British Studies Program are awarded by The University of Southern Mississippi, a fully accredited institution of higher learning, and are transferable upon request.
