FAQ
1. When can I pay my registration fee? Registration fee can be paid during Advance and Open registration period. (See College Calendar for details)
2. If I decide not to enroll and have paid my registration fee is it refundable? No, registration fee is non-refundable, but we'll transfer it to another semester/term.
3. If I have a prior balance can that amount be taken out of by current financial aid? No, all prior balances must be paid in full before you can enroll in the next term.
4. When is tuition due? Tuition is due 10 days prior to the first day of class (See College Calendar for details)
5. If I withdraw from college would I owe a balance? It is a possibility that you would owe a balance if you withdraw before the required time for financial aid.
6. How long would I have to attend before I can receive by full Pell Grant? Students will have completed at least 60% of the enrollment semester/term. (See Financial Aid for details)
7. Am I entitled to a refund? You might be entitled to a refund if your account has a credit balance.
8. If a third party is paying for my tuition; where should I send the paperwork? The document(s) can be mailed to the Raymond campus or taken to the Business Services at any of our locations.
9. If I set up a payment plan is it necessary for me to cancel the payment when I receive financial aid? Yes, deferred payment plan must be cancelled so the student can avoid the late payment fees.
10. How will I receive my refund? Students will receive their refund on the Hinds debit card.
11. What options can I receive my refund? Students have two options: HigherOne Account or ACH
12. Will have to activate my HindsDebitcard to receive my refund? Yes, all refund will be issue by Higher One according to the refund preference you selected.
13. Can I have my refund deposit into my own bank account? Yes, you can have your refund deposit into your bank account by selecting refund preference ACH.
14. Can I use my Hinds debit card anywhere other than at Hinds? You can use your card anywhere that accepts MasterCard/Visa.
15. Are their any ATM machines available for student's usage? Yes, HigherOne have a total of three ATM machines within the district located on the Raymond, Rankin and Utica campuses.
