Air Traffic Control TechnologyThe Air Traffic Control Technology program prepares students for employment in air traffic control careers. There are no restrictions on age or physical condition of students entering the program. However, students desiring employment with the Federal Aviation Administration should be aware of FAA employment requirements, such as the air traffic control specialist medical examination and a 31-year-old maximum age restriction for students anticipating employment in terminal or en route options.
  • 85 percent of U.S. air traffic controllers (14,000) will be eligible for retirement over the next decade
  • Controllers are among the highest paid in government service
  • Graduates of this program will have a decided advantage in these jobs

The Aviation Department hosted 12 students from the Rowan Middle School summer program “I Too Can Fly” founded by aviation enthusiast, Dr. Peter Stewart, and funded by JPS and the Good Samaritan Midtown organization.
