Summer 2010 Grad Speaker Phil Fisher

Hinds County Supervisor (District 4) Phil Fisher of Clinton is a native of Jackson and a 1972 graduate of Callaway High School. He holds his bachelor’s degree in marketing (1976) from Mississippi State University and began his military career as an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps.

He joined the Mississippi Army National Guard in 1984 and graduated from the Army War College in 2003 with a master’s degree in strategic studies. He is a 2006 veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom/Operation Enduring Freedom and is a Brigadier General commanding the 184th ESC (Expeditionary Sustainment Command).

Fisher served as alderman for Clinton’s Ward 4 from January 1993 to January 2008, when he assumed office as Hinds County District 4 supervisor. He retired in 2007 from Procter and Gamble after 22 years of service.

He and his wife, Kathy Davis Fisher, are the parents of Brian, 29 and Dana, 20.
